He further encouraged organized labour to suggest or accept a reasonable minimum wage that would not result in extensive Unemployment throughout the nation. The minister expressed concern about Economic Stability during the 2024 Synod of the Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria in Abuja, emphasizing the negative impact of accepting wages that are not feasible.

His statement emphasized the importance of implementing a wage system that is both fair and practical for Nigerian workers. While supporting the idea of increasing wages, he stressed the need for caution to prevent negative effects on the economy, such as job losses and decreased Welfare for the population of about 200 million Nigerians. It is crucial for the labour unions to grasp that Nigerians are anticipating and rightly deserving relief, which will not be limited solely to raising wages.
