Afrilearn aims to empower Nigerian students to excel on the international stage.

A successful educational Technology app with over 2 million users, Afrilearn has introduced an innovative app that combines games and education, offering Nigerian students in primary and secondary schools the opportunity to earn while learning. The users, particularly students, can access to a gamified educational technology platform offering in-depth class notes, engaging video lessons, homework assistance, practice exams, and customised learning tools. In a recent announcement, the creators of Afrilearn unveiled the release of the new app, saying that Afrilearn is significantly impacting a country where access to quality Education is a continuous struggle. They differentiate themselves by closely following the national Curriculum and providing various educational materials. This includes class notes based on the curriculum, engaging video lessons, immediate help with homework, fun Exam preparation games, and personalised learning tools. By utilising diverse strategies, primary and Secondary School students can learn independently, at their convenience and in any location.

Co-founder Isaac Oladipupo expressed Afrilearn’s dedication to empowering Nigerian children, irrespective of their background, to excel on the global stage. The tech expert designed the app to unlock every child’s potential by identifying and catering to their unique learning preferences. He further stated that every child possesses greatness within them when provided with the appropriate learning style. Afrilearn aims to support children across the region in competing on a global scale and equip them for a successful future.

Jayne Augoye, the product marketing manager, described the tool as a virtual study companion that offers homework assistance, simplifies complex topics, and supports exam preparation, all while enhancing the educational experience. This tool completely changes students’ perspectives on education and revolutionises their interactions. Also, Damiete Dateme, a student at a secondary school in Lagos, added that the app played a crucial role in her academic success by enabling her to achieve outstanding results.

AI, gamification, and resources help students excel in exams.

She stated that the app’s comprehensive class notes and helpful Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant led her to academic success, with straight As in all her junior and senior secondary school exams. She believes that the tool is a fantastic resource for students preparing for the National Examination Council (NECO), West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (UTME), and the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) exams, as it provides access to previous exam questions and practice tests with time limits.

Gabriel Olatunji-Legend, one of the creators of Afrilearn and in charge of content, believes that education should be an enjoyable experience. Their use of gamification motivates students to reach new levels of success and encourages a lasting passion for learning. On his part, Emmanuel Aneri, the chief technology officer (CTO) of Afrilearn, emphasised the importance of using artificial intelligence to personalise the learning experience for students. This individualised approach allows maximum engagement and unlocks each child’s full potential.

Moreover, they collaborate with governmental bodies and educational institutions to offer high-quality supplemental learning resources for primary and secondary school students.
