Cristiano Ronaldo hints at a possible retirement amid his 1000-goal hallmark.
Five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo recently admitted that his goal of reaching 1,000 career goals might be out of reach as he nears the final stretch of his career. The international football all-time top scorer achieved the 900-goal milestone last month with Portugal’s win over Croatia, celebrating with visible emotion. However, Ronaldo’s goal rate has slowed, with only two goals in his last six games for Al-Nassr since the international break. Now approaching 40 and still representing Portugal, Ronaldo expressed doubts about hitting 1,000 goals. “I wanted to reach 1,000 goals, but now it’s about living in the moment,” he shared at an award ceremony by the Portuguese Football Federation, where he received the Platinum Quinas trophy for Portuguese excellence. This month, Ronaldo returns to Europe with Portugal, needing just one point from their final UEFA Nations League group games against Poland and Croatia to reach the 2025 quarter finals.
🚨 CRISTIANO RONALDO:
"I can't wait to see what my legs have to offer me in the next few years.
If the 1000th goal comes, that's fine, but if it doesn't happen, I'm already the top scorer in history." 🥶🥶 pic.twitter.com/bFCGRnXaeU

Lisandro Martínez is set to miss the international games due to injury.
Manchester United’s Lisandro Martínez will miss Argentina’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers due to injury. According to TYC Sports’ Gastón Edul, Martínez arrived at Argentina’s training camp with an existing issue and will sit out the team’s CONMEBOL qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Instead, the 26-year-old defender will return to Manchester, where United’s medical team will assess his condition and determine the necessary treatment. Martínez played the full 90 minutes in United’s recent 3-0 win over Leicester City but needed medical attention after going down with a knock in the second half. His absence is a significant setback for United, who are already dealing with several injuries. Key players like Kobbie Mainoo, Casemiro, and Harry Maguire have missed recent games, while defenders Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Leny Yoro are yet to feature this season. United’s new manager, Rúben Amorim, will begin his tenure after the break against Ipswich Town on November 24.

FIFA reportedly hoping to get permission to introduce football video support (FVS).
According to new reports, FIFA is seeking approval from the International Football Association Board (IFAB) to extend trials of Football Video Support (FVS), a coach-challenge system seen as an alternative to VAR. Tested at this year’s U20 and U17 FIFA Women’s World Cups, FVS allows coaches to challenge up to two referee decisions per match, with the referee reviewing incidents on the sideline. Unlike VAR, which relies on multiple video assistants, FVS involves only a replay operator and a minimal camera setup, making it suitable for lower-resource leagues. “FVS is not VAR,” clarified Pierluigi Collina, head of FIFA’s referees committee, emphasizing its limited camera views. FIFA hopes to expand FVS trials to more competitions if IFAB grants permission. The system aims to support referees in leagues unable to afford full VAR technology, aligning with FIFA’s commitment to practical, accessible innovations in global football.
🚨 – BREAKING: FIFA hope to receive permission from the International Football Association Board very soon to add Football Video Support to the game of football.
This would allow coaches to challenge referees decisions during games.

Curry scores 37 to win the game for the Warriors against the Dallas Mavericks.
Point Guard, Stephen Curry scored 37 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a thrilling 120-117 win over the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Cup opener on Tuesday, spoiling Klay Thompson’s return to San Francisco. Thompson, a key player in four Golden State championship runs before joining Dallas in July, was warmly welcomed back by fans and Warriors staff. He scored 22 points, including six three-pointers, but was ultimately outshone by Curry’s late-game heroics. With the Mavericks leading 114-108 with just over three minutes left, Curry responded with a 10-point run, highlighted by a 28-foot step-back three, giving Golden State the edge. Curry called it “a playoff-like atmosphere,” while Thompson described facing Curry as “surreal,” adding, “It hurts to be on the other side of one of his flurries. Guy got hot at the end and made some ridiculous shots.”

Ansu Fati to be sidelined for 4 weeks following a right hamstring injury.
Barcelona has confirmed that winger Ansu Fati will be out for about four weeks following a right hamstring injury suffered during training. The 21-year-old has made seven appearances this season under Hansi Flick, mostly as a substitute, but has yet to register any goals or assists. His absence means Barcelona will be without him for key games against Celta de Vigo, Brest, Las Palmas, Mallorca, Betis, and Borussia Dortmund across La Liga and the Champions League. The club is hopeful he may return for the match against Leganés on December 14-15, though if recovery takes longer, his next possible appearance would be against Atlético de Madrid on December 21-22. Fati’s injury is a setback to Barcelona’s attacking depth, and fans are eager for his return as the team heads into a demanding stretch of fixtures.
