Real Madrid defeats Borussia Dortmund to win the 15th Champions League.
La Liga giants, Real Madrid emerged victorious in Saturday’s final clash against Borussia Dortmund, defeating the Bundesliga side 2-0 to secure a record-extending 15th Champions League trophy. Despite creating a plethora of goal scoring chances early in the game, Dortmund failed to convert. However, it was Dani Carvajal who headed home the opener in the 74th minute before Vinicius Jr doubled the lead 9 minutes later to spearhead Madrid to the European championship. Head coach, Carlo Ancelotti became the first manager to win the competition five times and in the same light, Luka Modrić, Toni Kroos, Dani Carvajal and Nacho Fernández now have made history as the players with the most CL trophies (6 each). Real Madrid’s dominance in the tournament remains unmatched and this win further proves their invisibility in the Champions League.
