New stories on Neymar, Vitor Roque, Ceballos, Steph Curry and Milwaukee Bucks.

Barcelona reportedly in contact with Neymar’s camp over a possible summer move.

Speculation is mounting over Neymar’s potential return to FC Barcelona as discussions unfold between the club, his agent Pini Zahavi, and his current team, Santos. Neymar left Paris Saint-Germain for Al-Hilal in 2023 but struggled with injuries, leading to his departure last month. He then rejoined his boyhood club, Santos, on a six-month deal until the end of the 2024/25 season. Despite the fanfare surrounding his return to Brazil, Neymar aims to regain peak fitness ahead of the 2026 World Cup and is eyeing a European comeback. According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, his top priority is Barcelona, with discussions already underway. His agent’s strong ties with club president, Joan Laporta could ease negotiations. A move would depend on Neymar’s fitness and financial flexibility, but Santos’ contract reportedly allows an early exit for Club World Cup teams. If finalized, his return to Barcelona would be a major footballing spectacle.

Vitor Roque completes €25 million permanent move to Palmeiras.

Newly signed Barcelona striker, Vitor Roque has officially returned to Brazilian side, Palmeiras in a bid to rediscover his confidence and form. FC Barcelona and Real Betis have agreed to terminate his Loan early, allowing the young forward to join Palmeiras. The deal, finalized days ago, sees the São Paulo club pay €25 million for the striker, who turns 20 this Friday. However, Betis required compensation before releasing him, with Roque’s agent, André Cury, negotiating the terms. Roque’s European stint fell short of expectations. After joining Barcelona in January 2024 from Atlético Paranaense, he struggled for impact, making just 16 appearances and scoring twice. At Betis, he earned more minutes, scoring seven goals in 1,735 minutes, though some performances faced criticism. Now back in Brazil, Roque looks to reignite his career, while Barcelona benefits financially from the transfer. Palmeiras offers him a fresh start to showcase the potential that once made him a rising star.

Ceballos confirmed to have suffered an injury to the semimembranosus muscle.

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has been ruled out with a left hamstring injury and could be sidelined for up to two months. The Spaniard sustained the injury during Madrid’s 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg, where Endrick scored the decisive goal. He limped off late in the match, as Madrid edged closer to the final in Seville on April 26. A club statement confirmed that medical tests diagnosed an issue with the semimembranosus muscle in his left hamstring, with recovery progress to be monitored. If reports are accurate, Ceballos is set to miss crucial LaLiga fixtures and Madrid’s Champions League last-16 clash against Atlético Madrid. This season, he has made 31 appearances in all competitions, starting 16 times. Only in 2022-23 (46) and 2018-19 (34) has he featured more. While no exact return date is given, he faces an extended spell on the sidelines.
