Stories on Ronaldo, Simone Biles, Inter Milan, Jimmy Butler and Umar Sadiq.

Paris Saint-Germain not in negotiation to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

With the winter transfer window open, Paris Saint-Germain is actively seeking a striker to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season and boost their Champions League ambitions. Amid the search, wild rumors surfaced about Cristiano Ronaldo’s potential move to the French capital, sparking significant buzz on social media. Journalist Pedro Almeida claimed PSG and Ronaldo had reached an agreement, but Fabrizio Romano dismissed the reports, confirming no discussions ever took place. Ronaldo, currently at Saudi club Al-Nassr, has played in three of Europe’s top five leagues. After starting his career at Sporting CP, he joined Manchester United in 2003, later spending nine illustrious years at Real Madrid before moving to Juventus. Following a brief return to United in 2021, a fallout led to his departure and subsequent move to Al-Nassr, where the 39-year-old continues to play.

Simone Biles hints at retirement after her illustrious Paris 2024 Olympics run.

Unarguably one of the greatest gymnasts in history, Simone Biles has hinted that her legendary career may soon come to an end. In a recent Sports Illustrated interview, the seven-time Olympic gold medalist reflected on her accomplishments and future. “There’s almost nothing left to do,” Biles shared, explaining her readiness to step back. After winning three gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, she feels returning for the 2028 LA Games might be “greedy,” noting the personal sacrifices involved. “When you’re younger, it’s prom, college. Now it’s starting a family, being with my husband. What’s really worth it?” As the most decorated gymnast of all time, Biles admitted the full magnitude of her achievements hasn’t sunk in yet. “Maybe in a few years I’ll look back and think, ‘Damn, she was good.’ But for now, it’s just normal.”

Dumfries’ brace lifts Inter Milan into the Italian Super Cup Final.

Holland’s full back, Denzel Dumfries scored twice in the second half to secure Inter Milan a 2-0 victory over Atalanta in Riyadh on Thursday, earning a spot in the Italian Super Cup final. Inter, aiming for a fourth consecutive title, fielded their strongest lineup, while Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini benched key players Ademola Lookman and Charles De Ketelaere. A scoreless first half saw Atalanta keeper Marco Carnesecchi deny Lautaro Martínez and Federico Dimarco with brilliant saves, while Yann Sommer stopped Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini after a defensive error. After the break, Dumfries broke the deadlock with a header and overhead shot from close range. Despite Atalanta’s substitutions, Dumfries struck again, smashing a first-time shot off the crossbar following Dimarco’s pass. Inter now awaits the winner of Friday’s Juventus vs. AC Milan clash for Monday’s final.

Jimmy Butler willing to play anywhere else as he requests a trade from Miami.

Six-time All Star, Jimmy Butler’s time with the Miami Heat appears to be nearing its end, he officially requested a trade, according to ESPN. The request came hours after a double-digit loss to the Indiana Pacers, where Butler struggled, scoring just nine points and being outscored by 27 during his 27 minutes on the court. Tensions between Butler and the Heat have simmered since team president Pat Riley’s harsh comments following Miami’s playoff loss to Boston last season, when Riley said, “If you’re not on the court playing, you should keep your mouth shut.” Butler recently admitted he no longer enjoys playing in Miami. Although several teams are likely interested, Butler reportedly plans to decline his $52 million player option for 2025-26, making him a free agent. This Trade would likely be a short-term rental for any acquiring team.

Umar Sadiq set to complete a loan move to Valencia until the end of the season.

Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq is set to leave Real Sociedad for Valencia on Loan until the season’s end, with an option for a permanent transfer in the summer, per Fabrizio Romano. Sadiq has struggled at Sociedad since joining from Almeria three seasons ago, hampered by a debut-season injury that limited him to three appearances. Over two seasons, he has made just 14 starts, scoring three goals, and has failed to score this season, contributing only one assist in a Europa League match against Anderlecht. Valencia, currently 19th in La Liga, urgently needs offensive reinforcements, having scored just 16 goals this season. Sadiq’s move offers a chance to revive his career and help Valencia’s fight against relegation. While unavailable for the match against Real Madrid, he could feature in upcoming fixtures against Eldense and Sevilla.
