At the inauguration of the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON) in Abuja, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Ahmed Dangiwa emphasised the importance of maintaining integrity and excellence in the profession. The federal government urged estate surveyors and valuers to adhere to the highest standards in their work. Dangiwa emphasised the importance of property surveyors in facilitating housing delivery, urban planning, and preventing building collapses in the country. Established by Decree No. 24 of 1975, this board consists of 22 members who have encountered challenges in carrying out their responsibilities because many members’ terms have expired, leading to a shortage of active members.

During the event, Dr. Marcus Ogunbiyi, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, commended the minister for regularly establishing boards under the ministry’s oversight.
