Rich Paul reveals that Lebron James will go into free agency this summer.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ struggles have heralded rumours of a possible Lebron James exit from the franchise. Although Lebron has remained silent about his plans for the offseason, his agent and Klutch Sports CEO, Rich Paul has hinted at the NBA all-time scoring leader going into free agency this summer. Rich Paul, who appeared on TNT’s alternative broadcast for game 2 of the Western conference final, mistakenly called Lebron a free agent, confirming the rumours that the 4-time MVP would be opting out of his $51.4 million player option for the 2024/2025 season. This however does not mean that he will be leaving the Lakers but the 39 year-old will be able to negotiate a no-trade clause in any new deal with the franchise. Other teams like the Philadelphia Sixers and Los Angeles Clippers are expected to show interest in him.
