FG launches free AI Academy for Nigerians

Artificial intelligence plays a role in advancing society and the economy.

In an effort to position Nigeria as one of the Digital Economy leaders, the Federal Government has established a free Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy in Abuja. Chief Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, inaugurated the project, which was done collaboratively by the Intel Corporation, the government, and the Commonwealth Secretariat. This initiative seeks to equip Nigerians with fundamental artificial intelligence abilities, thereby improving their capacity to compete and develop in a fast-changing world. The AI Academy provides self-paced courses that address the principles of AI, tools, ethical issues, and practical applications.

Designed to give a transforming learning experience, the academy welcomes students, young people, civil servants, and others. Beyond only academic knowledge, participants will have chances to apply for AI ambassadorial positions, land internships with Intel Corporation, and get practical global experience. Beginning on December 19, 2024, registration is open until January 30, 2025.
