Phil Foden leaves England’s Euro 2024 squad due to personal issues.

Manchester City’s midfielder, Phil Foden has left England’s camp due to a pressing family issue. The 24 year-old star started all 3 group stage matches, as Gareth Southgate’s side secured the 1st-place spot in Group C. In a brief report, the FA confirmed that Foden would be leaving the squad for a while. Although no other information about the issue or return was communicated, sources have alleged that it might be due to his girlfriend having a baby. England will face Slovakia in the Ro16 on January 30th.

Peter Osaze Odemwingie becomes a certified professional golfer.

Former Super Eagles’ striker, Osaze Odemwingie has successfully transitioned into a professional golfer. After playing across England and Russia, the dazzling ex-Nigerian international player decided to retire from football in 2018 and decided to pursue a career in golf. Serhou Guirassy is set to sign for Borussia Dortmund in the coming days.

VFB Stuttgart’s striker, Serhou Guirassy was one of Europe’s most in-form strikers last season. Despite his long-term injury, which stopped him from representing Guinea in the AFCON tournament in January, he was still one of the highest goal-scoring strikers in the world. Scoring 30 goals in 30 games, Guirassy attracted interest from many European clubs including Arsenal and Tottenham. The Guinean is now set to move to Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund. According to sources, Dortmund has just agreed to personal terms with the player and will be planning to match Stuttgart’s valuation for the talented striker.

Georgia stun Portugal to qualify for the Round of 16 at the 2024 Euros.

The god of surprises pulled another stunner on Wednesday evening, as Georgia defeated Portugal to secure a Ro16 spot in their first ever major international competition. Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring just after 1 minute after a mistake from Benfica’s António Silva. Georges Mikautadze doubled the lead early in the second half with a beautifully-converted penalty to seal the win. Despite the loss, Portugal won Group F and Georgia will face Spain in the round of 16 as one of the best 3rd-placed teams in the tournament.


Paul George to make a big-money move to the Golden State Warriors.

Over the last months, there has been speculation regarding Paul George not reaching an agreement for a new contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. However, emerging reports in the NBA have pointed to the Golden State Warriors being a potential option for the star player. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst revealed that the Clippers have only been interested in offering Paul George a little less than the max contract, similar to Kawhi Leonard’s. The Golden State Warriors have however, pulled the big gun and are willing to offer Paul George a 4-year max, $200 million contract.
