European Union deems Nigeria’s 2023 elections not credible.
Nigeria’s 2023 election was ravaged by cases of alleged corruptions, violence and other election malpractices. INEC, the electoral body, was immensely uncoordinated in its handling of one of Nigeria’s most critical elections. The BVAS and IREV were not responsive, despite the numerous promises of the electoral body that the scheme would work perfectly. Many Nigerians took to social media to criticize INEC for its lackadaisical approach to conducting this election. With the presidential election presently at the tribunal, European Union, in its observation report of the election, noted that there can be no confidence in the results of these elections.
“The elections that happened in Nigeria cannot be considered to have been credible….there can be no confidence in the results of these elections.”
