Burna Boy “Sittin’ on Top of the World” debuts on US Billboard 100.
Burna boy is writing his name in the history books as one of Africa’s most impactful artistes. Taking huge strides consistently, he is enjoying a phenomenal 5 year run, filling up stadiums across the world, with huge streaming numbers and chart recognitions to show for it. His single, Sitting on Top of the World, which interpolates Brandy’s Top of the World featuring Mase, has now debuted on the US Billboard chart at number 80. His new album, I Told Them also debuts at number 31 on Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 31k units. Burna Boy now joins Wizkid and Tems as the only Nigerian artistes with four or more entries in the Billboard 100 charts.

Nigerians get ready for the final judgment of the Presidential Tribunal.
Nigerian 2023 Presidential election was alleged to have witnessed numerous electoral irregularities and malpractices. Although APC candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared winner of the presidential election, many Nigerians and foreign observers expressed their displeasures at the inconsistencies from the electoral body. Labour Party candidate Peter Obi and PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar however protested against this win and the legality of President Tinubu’s candidacy. This case is set to be concluded with the final judgement set for September 6. Nigerians are expectant now more than ever as to what judgement is to be made.

Manchester United release 25-man squad for Champions League campaign.
Erik ten Hag has now released his 25-man squad for the new Champions League campaign and there are surprise exclusions. New signings, Sofyan Amrabat, Sergio Reguilon and Rasmus Højlund have been added to the list. However, Donny Van De Beek, whose move out of the club failed to actualize last minute, fails to make the list. Youngsters, Amad Diallo, Alejandro Garnacho and Mejbri Hannibal also did not make the list. Certainly, the youngsters will be added to the B List which will be submitted ahead of the first game against Bayern Munich.

Virgil Van Dijk disassociates himself from Van Gaal’s latest comments.
Lionel Messi completed football, leading Argentina to the 2022 World Cup glory. In a fierce battle in the quarter finals, Argentina defeated Netherlands in a penalty shootout to proceed to the next round. Van Gaal, who was Netherlands’ coach at this time, has now claimed that the World Cup was rigged for Messi to win. Virgil Van Dijk, Netherlands’ captain has however disassociated himself and the squad from this wild claim, noting that he or the team do not share the same opinion with Van Gaal.
