Nigerian superstars, Burna Boy and Arya Starr have been billed to perform at the iconic 2024 Glastonbury Festival. The festival is one of the biggest music events globally, attracting over 100,000 attendees yearly. This is without a doubt, a huge feat for not just the artists but also the Afrobeats genre. The five day event which is set to commence on June 26 till June 30, will be headlined by SZA, Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Shania Twain.

Dua Lipa set to release her third studio album, Radical Optimism”.

Pop star, Dua Lipa has announced that her third studio album will be released on May 3rd. The album, titled “Radical Optimism” is set to feature eleven songs, including hit singles, “Houdini” and “Training Season”. She worked with Tame Impala and a host of other producers while making the album which she described as inspired by British pop and rave culture. The album is presently one of the most anticipated projects and is expected to debut highly on charts when released.

Starz TV show, Power Book II: Ghost set to end with season four.

The sight looks near for popular TV series, Power Book II: Ghost, as season four has just been announced as the last season for the prequel. The season four is will be split into two parts with both parts scheduled for release in June and September respectively. Speaking of this final season, Kathryn Busby, the programming president at Starz assured fans that there will be no disappointment. The release of the first part will match the series’ 10th year anniversary.

Disney Plus produces its first ever African animation series, “Iwaju”.

Global streaming platform, Disney+ has produced its first ever African animation series titled “Iwaju” which projects a futuristic Lagos. It features voices from some of Nigeria’s movie stars like Simisola Gbadamosi and Siri Sowetan. While this is a huge step forward in promoting the African culture through the viewpoints of African characters, Disney+ is presently not available in Nigeria, making it impossible for Nigerians to access the animation series.
