Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” become BB100 longest charting #1 by a female artist.

2023 hit song, “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus, spent eight weeks at number one on the Billboard top 100 chart, clinching two Grammy awards for Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the year. The song, which has now spent over 55 weeks on the chart has just surpassed Taylor Swift’s smash hit, “Anti-Hero” (54 weeks) to become the longest charting number one record on the Billboard top 100 chart by a female artist.

Rema speaks on the importance of platforms to the growth of Afrobeats.

Global superstar, Rema has enjoyed huge popularity since his smash hit, “Calm Down”, receiving international awards and performing on some of the biggest stages. He recently became the second Nigerian artist to perform at the Brit awards and despite losing the Best International Artist award to SZA, Rema insisted that he was in fact elated about the global platform that the Afrobeats genre is presently enjoying. The genre is on a worldwide trajectory, growing across boundaries and without a doubt, Afrobeats will only become bigger in the coming years.

Kid Cudi announces dates and guest artists for his “Insano World Tour”.

American rapper, Kid Cudi is set to embark on a world tour for his album, “Insano” which was released earlier this year. The tour is scheduled to hold in Europe and North America and is slated to begin on June 28 at the Austin Moody Centre. The North American dates will run through various cities like Nashville, Philadelphia, Vancouver and will be wrapped up by August 30. After this, Cudi will make stops across European countries like the Netherlands, UK, Dublin and more from February to March 2025. Pusha T, Jaden Smith and EarthGang will be the guest artists for the tour.

Ye and Ty Dolla $ign are set to release second joint album, “Vultures 2”.

“Vultures 1” has been one of the most successful albums since its release earlier this year. The album spent two weeks at number one on the Billboard top 200 albums and hit song, “Carnival” is set to hit number one on the top 100 charts. The duo is however teasing the release of “Vultures Vol. 2”. The album cover includes a photo of Ty Dolla $ign with a portrait of his brother who was allegedly sentenced to life imprisonment. In their latest listening party in Phoenix, the duo teased some tracks off the album like the long-anticipated “Rivers” featuring Young Thug. While the release date is yet unknown, fans are convinced the album album will be released soon.

Tacha allegedly receives death threats from fans after Davido call out.

Former Big Brother Naija star and now media personality, Tacha has in an interview with Chude, disclosed that she receives death threats from Davido’s fans for calling out the music star on social media. Accusing the “Unavailable” singer of liking slanderous comments about her on social media, Tacha, who was a staunch fan of Davido, took to her platform to criticize the star some months ago. In the interview, she said “I have received death threats from Davido’s fans, saying it’s 001 you want to play with”. Davido is however yet to address these claims.
