Pop star, Lady Gaga’s Mayhem has claimed the top spot on the Billboard 200, marking her fifth solo No. 1 album. The pop star’s seventh studio release achieved the biggest opening week for a female artist in 2024, earning 219,000 units, according to Luminate. The album also set a personal best for Gaga in streaming, with 108 million plays. To boost sales, Gaga released 14 physical variants, including exclusive vinyl, CDs, and cassettes. Of her total first-week units, 136,000 came from pure album sales, with vinyl contributing a career-high 74,000 copies. “Abracadabra”, Mayhem’s highest-charting single, was first teased during a Grammy Awards commercial. The album features dance-floor anthems like Disease, Abracadabra, and “Die With A Smile”, a collaboration with Bruno Mars. Elsewhere in the top 10, Kendrick Lamar’s GNX landed at No. 2, followed by PartyNextDoor and Drake at No. 3. SZA, Tate McRae, Sabrina Carpenter, and Bad Bunny also held strong positions.

John Lithgow Returning as Trinity Killer in Dexter: Resurrection.
American actor, John Lithgow has confirmed his return in Dexter: Resurrection, though not as a resurrected character. Speaking to Variety, Lithgow revealed he will appear as a ghostly hallucination as Dexter, played by Michael C. Hall, awakens in a hospital. Fans will recall Dexter’s history of speaking with apparitions, including his father Harry (James Remar) in Dexter and sister Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) in Dexter: New Blood. Lithgow’s Trinity Killer remains one of the series’ most chilling villains, having murdered Dexter’s wife, Rita, before meeting his own brutal end. Lithgow previously reprised the role in New Blood via a flashback from Harrison’s memories. Reflecting on the character, he noted that Trinity was inspired by ordinary men hiding dark secrets. He also recalled TV Guide once describing him as a “bland blob of a man”—a critique he embraced as part of the role’s unsettling duality. Dexter: Resurrection is set to stream on Paramount+ this year.

Ariana Grande Announces Brighter Days Ahead Short Film for her deluxe album.
Pop singer and vocalist, Ariana Grande has announced Brighter Days Ahead, a short film set to accompany the deluxe edition of her album Eternal Sunshine, both releasing on March 28. She shared the news on Instagram, unveiling a teaser and confirming that Christian Breslauer will direct the project. Breslauer, known for his work with Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, and SZA, has directed all of Eternal Sunshine’s music videos, including we can’t be friends (wait for your love), the boy is mine, and yes, and?. Reports suggest Brighter Days Ahead will revisit the Brighter Days Inc. clinic, with hints that Grande may reflect on her past musical eras. Eternal Sunshine, originally released in March 2024, became her fifth consecutive No. 1 album in Ireland. Beyond music, Grande recently earned Oscar and BAFTA nominations for her role in Wicked, which also debuted at No. 1 on the Official Film Chart.

Hawkeye reportedly renewed for a season 2 by Marvel Studios.
Marvel Studios appears to have greenlit a second season of Hawkeye, according to insider Daniel Richtman. While an official announcement has yet to be made, reports suggest filming will begin in late 2025, with a release expected in Fall 2026 or 2027. Speculation about the show’s return grew after Marvel released Hawkeye on 4K Ultra HD Steelbook, notably omitting “Complete Series” from its packaging—hinting at future episodes. Season 2 is expected to shift focus from Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton to Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop. With Kate set to play a key role in Marvel’s Young Avengers project, her increased presence in Hawkeye makes narrative sense, while Clint may transition to a supporting role. Since Disney+ launched in 2019, only one live-action Marvel series has been officially renewed. If confirmed, Hawkeye’s return would expand that list and continue Kate’s journey in the MCU.

Ne Zha 2 becomes the fifth highest-grossing movie worldwide.
Chinese animated blockbuster Ne Zha 2 has climbed to fifth place on the all-time global box office charts, surpassing Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The film has now grossed $2.08 billion worldwide, including $2.06 billion from international markets (primarily China) and $20.2 million in North America. Over the weekend, Ne Zha 2 earned $20.6 million in China, according to Artisan Gateway, while Comscore reported $366,000 from North American theaters. The film has also amassed $155 million on IMAX, making it the sixth highest-grossing IMAX release ever. Despite a generally quiet box office weekend, Ne Zha 2 continued its strong performance, marking the second time in 2025 that a film topped Comscore’s worldwide weekend chart with under $30 million. The last instance was in late January when Mufasa: The Lion King led with $24.1 million. Ne Zha 2 now trails only the Avatar films, Avengers: Endgame, and Titanic in box office history.
