Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” ranked the greatest rap song from a woman on Spotify.
Spotify has ranked Cardi B’s breakout hit, “Bodak Yellow” as the greatest hip hop song by a female artist. The 2017 hit record not only pushed Cardi B to the global spotlight but became a seminal influence for emerging female rappers. The song spent three consecutive weeks on top of the Billboard top 100 charts, the first from a female rapper since Lauryn Hill’s 1998 hit, “Don Wop (That Thing)”. Many have taken to social media to express their blatant disagreement with this position.
