Lately, one of the driving narratives in the hip hop scene has been the heavy claim about the genre’s death. Many critics have been immensely critical of the current trend of hip hop songs, noting that the rap scene is experiencing its biggest fall in terms of quality. Acclaimed hip hop legend, Lil Wayne has however weighed in on this narrative. According to Wayne, the Hip Hop genre is just innovative and constantly evolving and those criticizing it have just failed to evolve with the sound.

Billie Eilish confirms her third studio album is now completed.
American Pop artist, Billie Eilish has shared an exciting update on her upcoming studio album. She had earlier teased new music in an interview with Westwood One’s “The Cookout”, revealing that the whole process was in the final stages. In a new Instagram post, the “What Was I Made For” singer confirmed that her new album was finished. In a series of posts with her rocking a black and grey Balaclava, she wrote the caption, “My album is mastered”. Fans have shown great excitement as to this news.

Logos Olori reveals composing Davido’s hit song, “Unavailable”.
Davido’s smash hit, “Unavailable” featuring Musa Keys has been one of Afrobeats’ biggest songs over the last year, receiving a Grammy nomination and spending multiple weeks in the official UK singles chart. New DMW signee, Olori has however just revealed that he wrote and composed the song before Davido contacted Peruzzi to re-write the verse. He however took to his twitter page to appreciate Davido for constantly giving huge platform access and credits to songwriters.

Kcee discloses how collaboration with One Republic came about.
Nigerian music star, Kcee hit the spotlight again last year with heavily acclaimed single, “Ojapiano”. Fans were however shocked at the news of an upcoming collaboration with American Pop Rock band, One Republic for this hit song. Speaking at Naija FM, Kcee revealed that the band slid into his Instagram DM and requested a collaboration for the remix of “Ojapiano”. He also disclosed that he worked with popular DJ, Diplo in a record which will be released soon.
