He has just made history as the first artist to surpass 100 billion streams on Spotify across his solo and collaborative efforts. A breakdown of this milestone shows that the Canadian rapper averages 234 million streams per song and 5 billion streams per album on the streaming platform. His hit record, “One Dance” is his most streamed song with 3.2 billion streams and the first ever song to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify. In spite of the outcome of his hip hop feud with Kendrick Lamar and maybe the industry, Drake continues to assert his dominance as the king of streams in the global music market.

Post Malone set to release his new album, “F-1 Trillion” in August.
Diamond-selling artist, Post Malone has announced that his highly anticipated sixth studio album, “F-1 Trillion” will be released on August 16. The American singer and rapper revealed the album’s title with a picture of a Nashville sign and a car-themed sign. With the location of the digital billboard, Malone hints at the project following in the trajectory of his new success in country music. Following his chart-topping collaboration with Taylor Swift, “Fortnight”, his song with Morgan Wallen, “I Had Some Help” has also topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart since its release. He also featured on Beyoncé’s new Country album for “Levii’s Jeans” and has teased a new collaboration with Country singer, Blake Shelton, “Pour me a Drink”. Announcing the album’s release date, Post Malone wrote on X, “Sup motherf**kas… F-1 Trillion August 16.” Fans have expressed excitement over the upcoming release.

New Taylor Swift docuseries with former label executive to premiere on HBO GO.
Taylor Swift’s battle with her former label executive, Scooter Braun, over her masters has been no secret. In 2019, Braun’s company, Ithaca Holdings purchased Taylor Swift’s former record label, as well as her the masters to six of her albums. However, a dispute between both publicly, triggering conversations from social media users about who owns the rights to the albums. However, fans will now have a deep delve into the situation as HBO is set to release a docuseries on the situation. The series, “Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood” will explore claims from both parties. It will also include takes from legal experts, music investors, journalists and entourages from both parties. The docuseries will premiere on June 21.

Damian Marley is set to feature on Seun Kuti’s upcoming album.
We are set to experience music heritage from two of the long-standing music families— Fela and Marley. Singer and the youngest son of Fela, Seun Kuti is set to feature Damian Marley on his upcoming album. Seun, who leads his father’s former band, Egypt 80, took to social media to announce this collaboration and the new project. This new album will be his first since “Black Times” which was released in 2018. This will be the first ever collaboration between the two heavyweight music families.
