Joker 2 records the worst 2nd week decline for any comic book movie.
DC’s Joker: Folie à Deux has faced significant rejection from fans, experiencing a historic 81.3% drop in its second weekend at the box office, the largest ever for a comic book movie. After a disappointing $38 million opening in the US, well below the predicted $50-70 million, the sequel earned just $7 million in its second weekend across 4,102 theaters. This decline ranks among the steepest in domestic box office history, surpassing the 78% drop of The Marvels last year. Globally, Joker: Folie à Deux has made $165 million, still far from its $200 million budget. In contrast, the original Joker (2019) opened with $96.2 million in the US and $248.4 million globally in its first weekend, eventually grossing over $1 billion. Joker: Folie à Deux has struggled to match its predecessor’s success.
