Kehinde Bankole to join the cast for UK theatre show, “Anna Hibiscus’ Song”.

Two-time AMVCA winner, Kehinde Bankole has been one of the most casted actresses in Nollywood recently, appearing in blockbuster films such as “Adire”, “Sista” and Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti. Her tremendous performances have landed her a role in a new film, “Anna Hibiscus’ Song”. The film adapts the 2011 book by Nigerian writer, Atinuke and is one of the five series of children books and it follows the story of Anna who doesn’t know what to do with her happiness and so, she starts to inquire about ways to utilize her happiness and as she talks to her family, she becomes even happier. The film is set to be produced by Utopia Theatre and Sheffield Theatre and will also feature Malick Bojang and Althea Burey.

Amaarae to release an extended play for her album, “Fountain Baby”.

Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Amaarae has just announced an extended LP. In a new interview, the “Like It” singer announced this, revealing that the new LP, “Roses are Red, tears are blue” will only include six songs. Since her breakout global hit, “Sad Girlz Luv Money”, Amaarae has successfully etched her name as one of the artists exporting the Afrobeats culture on the global stage. Fans have expressed major interest in the coming project.

Burna Boy officially releases a new song, “Higher” , his first in 2024.

Coming off a successful feature run, Afrofusion star, Burna Boy is back with a new song, “Higher”. This record, his first of the year, marks an evident shift in his sonicity as the Grammy award winner dwells in an emotional and self-reflective mood. One month after Kendrick Lamar’s feud with Drake, his hit song, “Not Like Us” is on the path to being hip hop’s biggest song this year. However, it was “Meet the Grahams”, produced by The Alchemist, which served as the biggest blow in the entire beef. Presently, conversations from fans and critics are tilting towards whether the Compton rapper would be releasing a new album this year. The Alchemist is the latest to comment on this conversation. The acclaimed producer, when asked if Kendrick was releasing a project, said, “I think he drops the album this year. I don’t think he has to, but I think he will.” This has given hip hop lovers a bit of hope for a potential Kendrick Lamar release.

Nicki Minaj congratulates Davido and Chioma on their wedding.

American rapper, Nicki Minaj is the latest celebrity to congratulate Davido, who tied the knot with his long-term girlfriend, Chioma on Tuesday. The rapper, during her “Gag City tour” in Portugal, took time to wish the Afrobeats star while performing their collaboration, “Holy Ground”. She said, “hold on, hold on Did Davido get married? Congratulations to Davido and Chioma. So, I was ahead of my time when I wrote this verse for Davido’s song”, Nicki said to the audience before performing the record.
