Burna Boy to host a star-studded festival in his hometown in December.

Grammy-winning star, Burna Boy has disclosed that he would be holding a 4-day festival in Port Harcourt at the end of the year. Over the years, there has been clamours from music enthusiasts for the need to decongest concerts in Lagos and also focus on other states. Burna Boy is set to take on this challenge and enact a festival in his state, Port Harcourt. Speaking to his fans via his Instagram live session on Friday evening, Burna Boy disclosed that it would be a star-studded event involving many of his friends in the music industry. The festival is scheduled for December 21st to 25th. While it is yet to be confirmed if it would be an annual event, fans have taken to social media to laud his efforts at uniting Nigerian music locally and internationally.

Kemi Adetiba’s upcoming movie, “To Kill A Monkey” is headed to Netflix.

Following the success of her mini series, “King of Boys: Return of the King”, Kemi Adetiba is set to return with a new movie, “To Kill A Monkey”. The crime thriller is one of the seven movies acquired by Netflix in 2023. Earlier in January, the acclaimed director teased behind-the-scenes moments of making the movie, raising fans’ anticipation for the upcoming thriller. The movie wrapped up filming in October 2023 and is now set to premiere on Netflix.

Megan Thee Stallion reveals the track list for her new album, “Megan”.

American rapper, Megan Thee Stallion is set to release her third studio album, “Megan”. The long-anticipated project comes after her 2022-released album, “Traumatize”. After announcing that the album will be released on June 28, she has just released the official track list for the upcoming release. The project will contain 18 songs including pre-released singles like “Hiss” and “Boa”. The album will also include collaborations from Kyle Richh, Yuki Chiba, GloRilla, UGK and Victoria Monét.

Two of the biggest forces in the Nigerian music industry currently, Rema and Shallipopi have collaborated on a new record, “Benin Boys” to pay tribute to their origin, Benin. In this song, both artists are boastful about being a Benin boy. The song is currently charting at number 1 on Apple Music Nigeria and has garnered over a million streams on its first day on Spotify, becoming the first Nigerian song in 2024 to hit this milestone. It also makes history as the first collaborations between two young African artists to hit 1 million first day streams on Spotify.

To many, Wizkid’s “Essence” featuring Tems is Nigeria’s most impactful song on the international stage.
