Rick Ross took to his Instagram story to play a snippet of the song, tagging Blaqbonez. While it is unsure when this song will be released, fans have expressed great happiness at the current trajectory of Nigerian rap.

Shallipopi signs a publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing UK.

Nigerian superstar, Shallipopi rose to fame after the release of his 2023 hit, “Elon Musk”. Since then, the rapper has gone on to release three projects and various hit songs like “Cast” and “Ex Convict”. His new album, “Shakespopi” has enjoyed monumental success since its release, spending weeks in the top 10 of Apple Music Nigeria and having one of the highest first day streams for a Nigerian album on Spotify. As a result of his strides over the last year, Shallipopi has now signed a publishing deal with Sony Music Publishing UK. This will further propel his music to the mainstream audience. Katy Perry announces release date for her much anticipated album, “Sex”.

Global singer and songwriter, Katy Perry is set to release a new project after four years. After her 2020 album, “Smile”, she has been focused on being a judge on American Idol. However, she announced in May that she would be leaving the talent show to focus on her music. Katy Perry is now set to release a new album, “Sex” on August 23rd. This will be her sixth studio album and first in four years. Her fans have taken to social media to express their anticipation for the upcoming album.

Oxlade to make a return with new Popcaan collaboration this Friday.

Global hitmaker and vocalist, Oxlade has been off the radar since his 2023 2-song pack, “Katigori” and “Piano”. The “Kulosa” singer is now set to make a statement with his new song featuring one of Jamaica’s finest artists, Popcaan. The singer posted a short clip with the caption, “Oxlade, wake up. Remember you’re the chosen one. It is time to begin your journey but first you must discover what it means to love.” The new song will be released on June 14.

Wizkid’s “Superstar” album re-enters the top 10 on Apple Music NG chart.

Perhaps, Afrobeats most impactful album, Wizkid’s “debut album, “Superstar” has been highly acclaimed as one of the genre’s classic albums. Housing numerous hit songs, the 2011 album launched Wizkid to superstardom and inspired many Nigerian artists including Davido. On Wednesday, Wizkid was joined by many fans celebrating 13 years since the release of the classic album, causing the album to make a re-entry into the top 10 of the Apple Music Nigeria chart. The project has now set the record for the oldest album to make a comeback into the top 10 on the chart.
