Drake files a second legal action against Universal Music Group.
Canadian rapper, Drake has filed a second lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG), alleging the company failed to prevent the release of Kendrick Lamar’s controversial diss track *Not Like Us*. Filed in a Texas court, the lawsuit claims UMG knew about the song’s content, which accuses Drake of being a pedophile and harboring sex offenders, yet took no action to stop its release. Drake’s company, Frozen Moments LLC, accuses UMG of orchestrating an illegal “scheme” involving bots and payola to promote Lamar’s song, which Drake argues was designed to harm his career while generating profits. He claims UMG prioritized Lamar’s success over other artists, including himself, and fueled consumer outrage to make the song a viral hit. The lawsuit also alleges Drake’s catalog, owned by Frozen Moments, suffered financial harm as a result of UMG’s actions. UMG has yet to respond to the allegations.
