TikTok refutes rumours that China is considering selling the app to Elon Musk.
Rumors have surfaced claiming TikTok might be sold to Elon Musk to avoid a U.S. ban, but the platform has firmly denied these reports. TikTok dismissed the speculation, first reported by Bloomberg, as “pure fiction.” The report suggested Chinese officials were considering selling TikTok’s U.S. operations to Musk’s company, X, amid growing pressure from U.S. lawmakers. TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, faces a potential forced divestment under the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, which takes effect on January 19. The law would ban TikTok unless ByteDance sells its U.S. operations to a non-adversarial entity. ByteDance and TikTok have appealed to the Supreme Court, arguing the law violates users’ First Amendment rights. Musk, who owns Tesla, SpaceX, and X, has not commented on the rumors. Legal proceedings remain ongoing.

Speaking on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, Pugh revealed she felt “broken” after the intense demands of portraying Dani, a grieving woman entangled in a pagan cult. “I’ve had roles where I gave too much, and Midsommar was one of them,” she shared. “I’d put myself in really awful situations emotionally to connect with the character.” Despite the challenges, Pugh is proud of her work but admits she’s since learned to set emotional boundaries. “I can’t be in that much pain every day,” she reflected. Pugh’s experience highlights the mental strain actors face in intense roles. Since Midsommar, she’s continued her rise with acclaimed performances in Little Women, Black Widow, and Dune: Part 2.
