Cardi B announces the release date for her sophomore album, “Almanzar”.

Six years after her highly acclaimed debut album, “Invasion of Privacy”, Cardi B is finally set to release her second studio album. In May, the Bronx rapper tweeted that there would be no album from her this year, revealing that she had plans to drop only features she had committed to. On June 20, she first hinted at a possible album release after letting her fans guess the title of her new album. She has however taken to her X account to announce that her sophomore album, “Almanzar” will be released on August 8. She wrote, “6 years ago I released my first album and it broke so many records GAH LEE!! 6 years later I’m preparing to drop the next one this year… it’s so different from what everyone is expecting and I’m sooo excited.”

Olamide reveals that his OLIC Fest will be back this December.

YBNL rapper, Olamide surprised fans earlier this week with a new project, “Ikigai”, featuring stars like Asake, Young Jonn, Fireboy, Pheelz and Lil Kesh. Since this release, he has been involved in a series of Q&A with his fans on X. Asked if he had plans of touring later this year, Olamide affirmed that he would be on the road. He also confirmed that his popular music concert, “Olamide Live in Concert” will be back this December. The 4th and last edition was held in 2017 at the Teslim Balogun stadium, where a plethora of artists were present. Fans have shown great excitement at the return of the concert.

Eminem collaborates with BabyTron and Big Sean for a new single.

Grammy Award winning rapper, Eminem is reeling out his new album, “The Death of Slim Shady” with the release of singles. After “Houdini” which peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, he has announced a new single, “Tobey”. Releasing a short video via his social media, the new song is set to feature fellow Detroit rappers, Big Sean and BabyTron. Based on the lyrics in the teaser, the song is most likely to reference Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. The song is scheduled for release on July 5.

Davido co-headlines the BET Experience concert in Los Angeles.

The BET Experience returned after a four-year hiatus. The three-day event which started on Friday, thrilled fans to beautiful music performances from global stars like Cardi B, Gunna, Sexxy Red, Jordan Ward and Afrobeats hitmaker, Davido, where he performed a bunch of his hit records. The global emergence of Afrobeats has given room for African artists to headline some of the biggest music events in the world and there is no doubt that more African stars will continue to hit the global market, all thanks to the growing success of the genre.

Tinashe discloses the release date for her new album, “Quantum Baby”.

With the huge popularity of her new song, “Nasty”, American singer and songwriter, Tinashe is set to keep the momentum going with a new album. The new project, “Quantum Baby” will be the second of her “BB/ANG3L” trilogy. Speaking on the new album, Tinashe said “Quantum Baby is about getting to know me on a deeper level. It’s about exploring who I am as a person and who I am as an artist. I’ve never been one to be put in a box, so the name ‘Quantum Baby’ encompasses all the different parts that make up what I am as a creative.” The new album will be released on August 16.
