Moana 2 set to record over $200 million gross revenue in 5 days.
Disney’s Moana 2 has shattered box office records, raking in a record $108M for Black Friday, with the sequel earning $54.5M for its Black Friday haul. The studio has raised its five-day estimate to $215M-$220M, aligning with initial industry projections. Disney, however, kept forecasts conservative, knowing Thanksgiving projections can fluctuate significantly. With a projected $140M three-day opening, Moana 2 is now set to become Dwayne Johnson’s second-biggest debut, behind Furious 7’s $147.1M. The film’s five-day performance would break the Thanksgiving weekend record, surpassing Super Mario Bros. movie’s $204.6M. Currently, the two-day total stands at $85.5M, with a global take nearing $110M. Johnson’s success continues as he also opened Amazon’s Red One this month, becoming the only actor to have two No. 1 films in a single month.
