Global pop star, Rihanna has been on an eight years hiatus, with her last released album, “Anti” being in 2016. Despite promising fans a new album, “R9”, she has since focused on her Fenty business and family. However, Rihanna’s partner, ASAP Rocky, who is also on a five year hiatus, has confirmed to fans that Rihanna is presently working on a new album, her ninth. While this is not the first time individuals from her close circle have confirmed her working on a new album, fans look set to continue holding on to hopes of her releasing the album soon.

Abimbola Osundairo opens up on what transpired with Jussie Smollett.

American singer and actor, Jussie Smollett was charged with six counts of disorderly conduct for false claims of being a victim of a hate crime. This case however involved Nigerian American boxer, Abimbola Osundairo and his brother and although they were not charged, the 2019 case has put the brothers on headlines. In a new interview with Chude, Abimbola opens up on the real event that transpired with the “Empire” star. According to him, Jussie had asked him to randomly beat him up and later on requested that his (Abimbola’s) brother help. Whilst Jussie Smollett plead not guilty to these charges, he was sentenced to 30 months of probation and a 150-day jail term.

“Vultures Vol. 1” and Yeat’s “2093” to battle for Billboard 200 top spot.

Kanye West’s collaborative album, “Vultures Vol. 1” with Ty Dolla $ign has claimed the top spot on this week’s billboard 200 albums chart, selling over 140k units in its first week, despite receiving no airplay. However, Yeat’s new album, “2093” is set to battle “Vultures” from claiming a second week atop the chart. Whilst Yeat is projected to sell 75,000 first week units for the album, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign are projected to sell about 70,000 in the second week. If “Vultures” eventually reclaims the number one position, this would be Kanye’s first album to spend two weeks at number one in the last two decades.

Asake set to headline 70k “The Untold Festival” in Dubai tonight.

With every evolving stride, the Afrobeats genre continues to reach new heights across the global entertainment landscape and while likes of Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido keep scratching the surface of the global entertainment market, the new school artists like Rema, Tems and Asake are sure to carry the culture to a whole new global level. The YBNL signee is now set to headline the 70k capacity “Untold Festival” in Dubai later this evening, marking his first headlined show of the year.

Reality TV show, Love Island is reportedly coming to Nigeria!

ITV sponsored reality tv show, Love Island has been one of the biggest shows across the United States and United Kingdom over the years. With the success of Big Brother Naija, reports are suggesting that the acclaimed “Love Island” is set to hit Nigeria very soon. Although these reports first surfaced in 2020, there has not been any clear indication of the show being staged in Nigeria. In a recent post via Instagram, popular Nigerian Media and Entertainment Executive and investor, Toyin Subi has re-affirmed that the TV show will soon be coming to Nigeria, with sponsors including, Dank Jullie Wel, Huub, Girts, Kayla and ITV.
