Paapa Essiedu to be cast as Severus Snape in HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series.
HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series is reportedly considering Paapa Essiedu for the role of Severus Snape. While no deal has been finalized, Essiedu is the latest actor linked to the highly anticipated project. Variety previously reported that Mark Rylance was being considered for Albus Dumbledore. Snape is one of J.K. Rowling’s most explicitly described characters, portrayed in the books as pale-skinned with greasy black hair and a hooked nose. His appearance is referenced multiple times, including in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. If Essiedu accepts the role, it would mark his return to HBO after his Emmy-nominated performance in I May Destroy You. He is also known for Gangs of London, The Lazarus Project, and The Miniaturist. New Netflix Peaky Blinders movie set to be released in the theatres.
The Immortal Man, the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, is set for a theatrical release, creator Steven Knight has confirmed. Causes of Gene Hackman and his wife’s deaths revealed after a week.
Academy Award-winning actor, Gene Hackman likely died about a week after his wife, Betsy Arakawa, according to New Mexico’s chief medical examiner, Dr. Heather Jarrell. Hackman, 95, passed away from cardiovascular disease, with Alzheimer’s as a contributing factor, while Arakawa, 65, died on February 11 from hantavirus, a rare virus transmitted by mice. The couple was found dead on February 26 after maintenance workers were unable to access their Santa Fe property. Authorities ruled out foul play and carbon monoxide poisoning, with the New Mexico Gas Company confirming no major leaks in the home. Data from Hackman’s pacemaker suggests he likely died around February 18. Arakawa was discovered on the bathroom floor with thyroid medication nearby, though it was reportedly taken as prescribed. Both deaths were classified as natural causes, including heart disease and infections. Hackman’s passing marks the loss of a legendary actor known for his iconic Hollywood career.
