Senator Ordia congratulates Asue on NBB appointment

Upon the retirement of Chief. Kolawole Jamodu, the Nigerian breweries has announced the appointment of Mr. Asue Ighodalo as the new Non-Executive Chairman, as stipulated by the board’s plan for succession. Recall that Mr. Asue had joined the board on January 1, 2022. This news has been met with numerous goodwill gestures from citizens, with Senator Clifford Ordia, the latest to congratulate Mr. Asue for this huge feat. He noted his belief that Mr. Asue would bring to the table, his wealth of experiences to progress the productivity of the company.

US-Nigeria Super Tocano deal, largest military sale to Sun-Saharan Africa

Over the last year, the United States’ Defense Security Cooperation Agency approved the arms sale deal with Nigeria, scheduled to worth about $1 billion. Although, this deal was put on hold by the US legislature, as a result of the possible human right abuses perpetrated by the Nigerian Military and government. However, recent reports have indicated that this weapons deal, which will entail the supply of 12 aircraft, munitions, trainings and infrastructure, will be the biggest military sale between the United States and any Sun-Saharan African country.

There is a present urbanization plan going through Kaduna City, Zaria and Kafachan towns, enacted by Governor Nasir El-Rufai which has placed the state on a forward surge among other urban cities in the country. Nigerians stranded in Sudan call for help.

Sudan is currently facing an armed conflict by two fractions of its military government, one that has escalated into a full-fledged war. With at least 559 people killed and another 4000 people also injured. However, numerous Nigerians, including university students have been caught between this conflict, immensely bearing the brunt as victims in an unfounded war. These Nigerians have thus called on the Nigerian government to intervene immediately, in a bid to speed up the evacuation process.

Air Force pilot batch to fly Tucano fighter aircraft complete training.

In combating the ravaging security situation that has plagued the country, numerous schemes such as the recruitment of more officers in the military force has become immensely paramount. Just recently, the final batch of 6 Air Force pilots, trained to fly the country’s A-29 Super Tucano fighter aircraft have reportedly completed their trainings. These officers were winged at a ceremony on April 27th. A total of 24 pilots have now undergone training for the A-29 ST.
