US-Nigeria Super Tocano deal, largest military sale to Sun-Saharan Africa
Over the last year, the United States’ Defense Security Cooperation Agency approved the arms sale deal with Nigeria, scheduled to worth about $1 billion. Although, this deal was put on hold by the US legislature, as a result of the possible human right abuses perpetrated by the Nigerian Military and government. However, recent reports have indicated that this weapons deal, which will entail the supply of 12 aircraft, munitions, trainings and infrastructure, will be the biggest military sale between the United States and any Sun-Saharan African country.
According to the US Govt, the Super Tucano deal with #Nigeria (supply of 12 aircraft, munitions, training, infrastructure etc) is “the largest U.S. foreign military sale to date to a country in sub-Saharan Africa.” https://t.co/p1PCp9MvQw
