With the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo due to suspension, Manchester United’s midfielder, Bruno Fernandes showed up again, leading Portugal to its biggest win in the clash against Luxembourg. Bruno recorded a goal and three beautiful assists, as Portugal trumped Luxembourg by nine goals to zero. He also scored the winning goal in their win against Slovakia. With a six wins out of six games in the Group J, Portugal have now qualified for the Euro 2024 which is set to be hosted in Germany. With the international break over, Bruno Fernandes will be looking to replicate this form as Man United face Brighton in the premier league.
“Mami Wata” screens in Mostra De Cinemas Africanos, São Paulo.
The African entertainment continues to thrive on the nuances of the culture and new movie, Mami Wata, which is deeply rooted in African folktale, has again made its mark in the global scene. The movie, produced by Oge Obasi, enjoyed its world and African premieres at Sundance and FESPACO respectively earlier this year. With great reviews, the movie has received awards and international deals and is now breaking into new global markets. The movie has just been screened as the opening film of Mostra De Cinemas Africanos in São Paola and intriguingly, most international audiences continue to deeply connect with the movie.

Sarz weighs in on the producer-artiste conversation on social media.
Social media has been rocked with arguments as to whether artistes are responsible for helping producers become popular. One of Africa’s most prominent music producers, Sarz, has however weighed in on this debate. Sarz, who has produced hit songs for the biggest artistes in Africa and also introduced some of Nigeria’s biggest talents like Lojay, has said that the relationship between artistes and producers is a symbiotic one and despite artistes being the “poster children”, producers are as important as artistes. He however condemned the arguments that artistes help producers, noting that the statement undermines the credibility that producers deserve.

Tribunal dismissed Hon. Attah’s victory for Eti Osa Federal Constituency.
The last general election in Nigeria showed that the citizens were more politically engaged in changing the country’s political status quo. The emergence of Peter Obi and Labour Party (LP) gave Nigerians renewed hope for better governance, further propelling Nigerians to vote other LP candidates. One of the recipients of this was Hon. Attah, who defeated PDP Olubankole Wellington and APC Ibrahim Obanikoro for the electoral representation of Eti Osa Federal Constituency. However, the National Assembly tribunal has just ruled the election inconclusive, directing INEC to conduct a supplementary election in all polling units where elections did not take place within 90 days.
