Afrofusion artiste, Burna Boy has become the frontier for African music on the global stage, achieving great strides through stadium/arena shows, digital streams and global chart entries. His success was never to be doubted because of his immense talent and stage presence and since his global recognition in 2018, he has leaped ahead of many African artistes in terms of achievement and overall recognition. With this success, there has been narratives about the “big three” in the Nigerian music industry, including Wizkid, Davido and Burna boy in a now-surfacing video, the Grammy Award winner noted was seen stamping his superiority over other Nigerian artistes, saying “there is the ‘big Two’ and there is Burna Boy.” While some people believe this statement to be mildly true, others have criticized him for being overly proud.

The music world has hit a shock wave with Selena Gomez’s new comment suggesting an imminent retirement from music. Opening up about her career in the entertainment industry and new goals ahead of the new year on the Smartless Podcast, Selena noted that she has one more album in her to give as an artiste and would fully choose acting. She revealed that it was never an intentional move to be a full-time musician but her hubby blossomed into “something else”. Wizkid’s surprise EP, “SoundMan 2” has enjoyed huge airplay since its release globally, making history as the first Nigerian EP to debut at number 2 on the US Apple Music Charts. Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna has called out fellow Reality TV star, Neo for disrespectful remarks hurled at her during the recent BB Naija All Stars edition. In an interview with another BB Naija star, Pere on the Spill With Phyna Podcast, where they discussed the issue of men living beyond their means, she heavily criticized Neo for regarding her as razz whilst being in the BB Naija All Stars house even though they had never met before. Pere, being one of Neo’s close friends eventually apologized on his behalf.

New Trey Edward Shults’ movie set to be released later this year.
A recent update on the IMDB website shows that a new Trey Edward Shults’ directed movie is set to be premiered later this year, with The Weeknd as a co-writer and actor. The movie will also feature stars performances from Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. Although, not many information about the upcoming movie has been known, including the title and plot, this would mark Shults’ first directed movie since “Waves” which was released in 2019.
