Netflix has officially announced the release date for the highly anticipated third and final season of Squid Game, set to premiere on June 27, 2025, according to Yonhap News Agency. This comes just six months after Season 2, which arrived following a three-year gap since the show’s 2021 debut. Season 3 was filmed simultaneously with Season 2, which consists of seven episodes. Alongside the announcement, Netflix unveiled a promotional poster and new stills, teasing the next chapter for protagonist Gi-hun (Lee Jung Jae), his mysterious rival Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), and others entangled in the deadly game. Den of Thieves 3 officially in development at Lionsgate with Gerard Butler.
Lionsgate is moving forward with a third Den of Thieves movie following the success of Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, which has earned $32 million domestically and hit PVOD. Gerard Butler is set to return as both star and producer through his G-Base banner, alongside Alan Siegel. Tucker Tooley Entertainment, which produced the first film, will also produce the sequel. The original Den of Thieves (2018) earned $80 million on a $30 million budget and gained popularity through home entertainment. However, delays—including the COVID-19 pandemic, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and Butler’s health issues—led to a seven-year gap between the first two films. Writer-director Christian Gudegast revealed that the third movie is ready to go, with a pitch already prepared. O’Shea Jackson Jr., who starred alongside Butler in Pantera, is expected to return for the sequel, which sets up the next chapter with a major twist.
