Pitbull removes Kesha’s credit off hit collaboration, “Timber” on YouTube.
Social media users recently noticed that Kesha’s name has been removed from the title credits of the 2013 hit single “Timber” by Pitbull on YouTube, though her name remains in the video’s description and on other streaming platforms. Released on October 7, 2013, as the lead single from Pitbull’s EP “Meltdown”, “Timber” became a global success, topping the US Billboard Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks and charting in over 15 countries. Speculation on Reddit’s popculturechat thread suggests the removal might be linked to Dr. Luke, the song’s co-producer, whom Kesha filed a lawsuit against in 2014. “Timber” was co-produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut, Sermstyle, and Nick Seeley.
