Young Thug finally released from prison after accepting plea deal in RICO case.

After a lengthy trial, rapper Young Thug, born Jeffery Lamar Williams, has been released from prison after pleading guilty in his long-standing RICO case. Thug pled no contest to RICO and gang leader charges, accepting guilty pleas on two gun and three drug charges. The judge sentenced him to time served on some counts and 15 years of probation, which could lead to a full sentence commutation if completed successfully. In court, Thug addressed the judge, reflecting on how his personality had drawn him into trouble. This followed his decision to accept a non-negotiated plea, granting sentencing power solely to the judge. Young Thug was initially jailed in 2022, named in a 56-count RICO indictment related to the alleged gang YSL. Several co-defendants accepted plea deals, while two, including rapper Yak Gotti, are still facing trials on multiple charges, including conspiracy and murder.
