Grammy Awards unveils new changes ahead of its 2025 event.
Ahead of the 67th edition of the Grammy awards, the Recording Academy has just renamed some of the award categories, while also announcing some eligibility changes ahead of 2025. One of the major changes taking effect is renaming the Best Dance Pop Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Music Album to Best Dance/Electronic album. The category now requires that the album contains at least 50% dance or electronica to qualify. Eligible featured artists with a playtime below 50% will only be awarded a winner’s certificate. Additionally, the Songwriter of the year and non-classical categories have been amended to facilitate more representation among songwriters. The new Grammy award eligibility will range from September 2023 to August 2024, with all nominations to be announced on November 8, 2024.
