Burna Boy, Davido and other Nigerian artistes nominated for the 2023 Grammys.
Nominations for 2023 Grammy Awards have just been revealed and this time, many Nigerian artistes have been nominated. Burna Boy earns the highest nominations of all Nigerian artistes with four categories including Best Melodic rap performance for his “Sitting on top of the world” with 21 Savage and Best African Performance for “City Boy”. Davido follows as the second most nominated Nigerian with three nominations, including the Best Global Album for his 2023 project, “Timeless”. His hits “Unavailable” and “Feel” also gained nominations in the Best African Performance and Best Global Music Performance categories. Asake, Tems, Olamide and Ayra Starr also receive one nomination each.

Jordan Poole explains what the trade to Washington Wizards means to him.
One of the best young players in the NBA, Jordan Poole was subject to a surprise trade to Washington Wizards this offseason, even though he was a pivotal player in the Golden State Warriors’ championship run in 2022. Despite rumors that his fight with hall of famer, Draymond Green caused him to be traded, Jordan Poole has just admitted that his trade to the Wizards has given him more autonomy to play his own brand of basketball. Reflecting on his time with the Warriors, he explained that everything that needed to be done with the franchise was actualized, as he got a ring, whilst also setting his family straight.

Pochettino gives injury update on Chelsea summer signing, Romèo Lavia.
Chelsea signed midfielder, Romèo Lavia for £58 million from Southampton during the summer window. However, he is yet to play a single minute for the London giant, as he has been riddled with a series of injuries. Ahead of their clash with league leaders, Manchester City, Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Lavia close to returning to the pitch, as he had already started training. Chelsea fans will be looking forward to witnessing the midfielder make his debut with the club in the coming weeks.

Netflix release first trailer for Avatar : The Last Airbender.
The live action of popular animation show, Avatar: The Last Airbender is set to be released later in 2024. Netflix had announced plans for the live action rendition back in 2018, with the original creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko agreeing to the re-imagination project. The duo decided to leave the production in 2020, due to difference in vision. With a new creative crew which includes, Albert Kim, popular for his “Sleepy Hollow” production, Jabbar Raisani and Roseanne Liang joining as new directors, the live action production is now set to premiere on February 22, 2024. On Thursday, Netflix released the first trailer during the Geeked Week presentation and this has gotten a lot of audience anticipating the release.

Postecoglou joins exclusive club with 3rd PL manager of the month award.
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou has completely revolutionized the club since joining the North London side from Celtic in June. Despite losing Harry Kane, the Australian manager is spearheading Tottenham’s title charge, as they sit just one point below Manchester City in the current league standings. Postecoglou has again been named the PL Manager of the month for October, making history as the first PL manager in history to win the award successively in the first three months of the season. He also joins Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp and Antonio Conte to win three consecutive PL Manager of the month award in the league’s history.
