Igbo culture hugely represented in Unilag Igbo Student Union Cultural Day.

Our lives are overtly shaped by the cultural notions that we live by. However, in modern times, the impact of culture has been largely ignored, with only a few still propagating these cultural ideas. With Nigeria as a melting pot of different cultural heritages, there has been a significant need to promote these cultural nuances and one of the events enhancing the promotion is the Igbo cultural day, enacted by Unilag Igbo students and further sponsored by the Voice of the East. This event witnessed a huge representation of the Igbo culture, from the music, dances, food and fashion. Perhaps, events like this are important to further promote our cultural heritages.

Carterefe and Berri Tiga tease new music on TikTok.

Although famous in the skip scene, Carterefe was introduced with Berri Tiga to the music industry with the success of their hit single, Machala. Despite the little rigmarole that emerged post this single, the duo have gone on to top Nigeria’s streaming charts, dropping other songs in the process. They have now teased a new song on TikTok. Fans have however noted their reservations as to the cloning of Asake and Seyi Vibez’s style. Perhaps, a little inspiration from other great artistes is in no way a bad thing.
