R. Kelly’s Daughter, Buku Abi, Speaks Out About Alleged Childhood Abuse
Buku Abi has publicly shared her alleged childhood abuse experiences for the first time. In the documentary series “Karma: A Daughter’s Journey,” Abi detailed the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her father. She recalls waking up to Kelly touching her and first reported the incident to her mother in 2009 at age 10. Abi claims she and her siblings stopped visiting Kelly after revealing the abuse. R. Kelly’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, has denied the allegations, stating the filmmakers didn’t contact Kelly to respond. This comes after Kelly’s 2022 conviction on child pornography and enticing minors into illegal sexual activity charges, resulting in a 30-year prison sentence, later extended for federal child pornography charges.
