Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer wins big in Critics Choice Awards 2024.
Acclaimed blockbuster, Oppenheimer continues to dominate award wins, the latest being the 2024 Critics Choice Awards. With 8 wins on Monday night, Oppenheimer led the film categories in total wins. Robert Downey JR. won the best supporting actor category and Christopher Nolan clinched the best director award. The $1 billion grossing movie also won the best picture, best acting ensemble, best cinematography, visual effect and best score categories at the 2024 awards. Barbie, on the other hand, also won five awards including best comedy, best original screenplay and best song.

American pop artiste, Ariana Grande broke her two years hiatus with a new single, “Yes, and?” which was released on Friday. The single has topped the global Spotify and Apple Music chart since release and is now predicted to claim the number one spot on next week’s Billboard top 100 charts, over Jack Harlow’s “Lovin On Me”. This will be her 74th entry on the chart and her 8th number one.

Wizkid’s “SoundMan Vol. 2” retakes the #1 spot on Apple Music Nigeria.
Wizkid’s surprise “SoundMan Vol. 2” has enjoyed huge acceptance since its release. The EP, which charted in over 80 countries, has been on top of Apple Music Nigeria for three straight weeks, but 21 Savage’s new album, “American Dream” overtook the EP upon release on Friday. However, the four-tracked project has retaken its spot as the top album in the country, as it aims to spend its fourth non-consecutive weeks on the chart.
