Rolling Stone ranks “African Giant” in its top 500 all-time global albums.
Burna Boy’s fifth studio project, “African Giant” was the turning point for both the artiste and the global outlook of African music. This project redefined the Afrobeats genre and culture on the global stage, heralding the much needed validation from global music spaces. Thanks to this album, Burna Boy was given a platform to spearhead Afrobeats to the world movement and has not backed down since. Acclaimed American magazine, Rolling Stone has ranked Burna Boy’s “African Giant” in the top 500 all-time global albums at number 303 for its cultural shock and redefining of the contingents genre. Fela Kuti and Africa 70’s “Expensive Shit” and Sunny Ade’s “The Beat of the Classic Years” are the only other two African albums ranked in the top 500 at number 402 and 465 respectively.

Renowned Nigerian actress and producer, Funke Akindele continues to make history with the release of her new movie, A Tribe Called Judah on December 15. Aliko Dangote dethroned as Africa’s Wealthiest Man in new Forbes list.
Nigerian socialite and businessman, Aliko Dangote has now been dethroned as Africa’s richest man by South African billionaire, Johann Rupert in the latest Forbes Real-Time Billionaire ranking. The South African businessman is the Chairman of Compagnie Financiere Richemont, a Swiss luxury goods with popular brands like Cartier and Montblanc, according to new data, Dangote moved down to second place after a $3.8 billion wealth decrease from $13.5 billion to $9.7 billion. Rupert’s net worth also witnessed a $700 million decrease, from $10.7 billion to $10 billion in 2024.
