Both the male and female players have been very important for their respective teams and it is only right that these performances are noticed at the biggest stage. Barcelona Femeni’s Azizat Oshoala and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen have now been nominated for the 2023 Ballon d’Or. The Nigerian pair have now set the record as the first African pair to be nominated for the award in the same year.

Sergio Ramos returns to boyhood club, Sevilla after 18 years.

Former Real Madrid defender, Sergio Ramos has now rejoined his boyhood club, Sevilla after two years with Ligue One giant, Paris Saint German. His stint in the French club was immensely ridden by consecutive injuries, causing the club to release him. Despite various big money options from Saudi Arabia and the MLS, the defender decided to rejoin Sevilla after 18 years away from the club. He joined Sevilla from age seven and made his debut at age 16 and will now be helping them through their crisis.

After the Mason Greenwood’s case, another Manchester United player, Antony has now been accused of allegedly sexually and physically abusing women. After his ex girlfriend had earlier accused the Brazilian of assault, two more women have now come out to accuse the forward again of physical abuse. One of the alleged victims, Ingrid Lana, stated that he had pushed her into a wall after she refused his sexual advances. With investigations ongoing, Brazil has dropped him from the squad and Manchester United will be looking to also drop the forward for the period of the investigation.

Nigerian superstar, Rema has been on top of the world, creating records and forging new paths for African music on the global scene since the release of his global record, ‘Calm Down’. The remix which features Selena Gomez has now spent a full year on the billboard chart, becoming the first African song to achieve this huge feat. Without a doubt, this will go a long way in further expanding the Afrobeats acceptance on the global scene.

Dababy releases a freestyle to Burna Boy’s Sittin on top of the world.

Burna boy lead single off his new album, Sittin’ on top of the world is now hitting new heights on the global stage. The song, which includes Brandy’s voice off her Top of the World, is receiving more spins, especially since the remix with 21 Savage and has in fact debuted at number 80 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 charts. American rapper, Dababy has just released a freestyle to the song and while many fans think it is a great freestyle, they still think it is time for the rapper to release new music.
