The Wild Robot surpasses $300 million at the global box office.
DreamWorks Animation’s The Wild Robot has surpassed $300 million globally, earning $134.4 million domestically and $166.1 million internationally as of Friday. Directed by Chris Sanders and starring Lupita Nyong’o, the film has become 2024’s No. 2 non-sequel studio release behind It Ends with Us, and the top non-sequel animated film of the year. It also ranks as the fourth-highest-grossing animated movie globally, behind Inside Out 2, Despicable Me 4, and Kung Fu Panda 4. After its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September, The Wild Robot saw strong overseas performance during school holidays and recently surpassed the international box office of The Bad Guys. Japan’s release is set for February 2025. It’s the 14th film to cross $300M this year and ranks as the third-highest-grossing non-sequel Hollywood animated film since the pandemic.
