Netflix announces the release date for highly anticipated “Òlòtūré 2”.
Four years later, Netflix is coming with a new part of the highly anticipated movie, “Òlòtūré”. The movie, which features performances from Sharon Ooja, Omowumi Dada, Omoni Oboli and Daniel Etim Effiong, highlights the perpetration of human trafficking and prostitution in Nigeria. After an inconclusive investigation, fans were convinced that a new part was in the works. Netflix has however surprised fans, announcing that the new film, “Òlòtūré: The Journey” will be released on June 28.

Hip Hop star, Megan Thee Stallion has picked up the snake portrayal for all her new releases, triggering conversations as to the direction of her project and the snake representing former boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine. Olawunmi Hassan’s “Irún Didí” wins non-fiction category in Sony Filmmaker award.
Nigerian filmmaker, Olawunmi Hassan has left her mark in the Nigerian film industry. Her non-fictional documentary, “Irún dídí” has clinched the Sony Filmmaker award for the non-fiction category, beating a plethora of top contenders to the award. The title, which means plaiting hair, explores the connection between hair strands with empowerment, self love, as well as the preservation of cultural heritages which is passed down through generations. This is a huge feat, especially for young Nigerian filmmakers who continue to find their way in an increasingly crowded industry.
