Albanian singer and songwriter, Dua Lipa has been one of the biggest pop artists in the world with huge numbers and records to show for it. She has just made history as the first female artist to have five songs with over 2 billion streams on Spotify. After “Levitating”, “One Kiss”, “New Rules” and “Don’t Start Now”, her 2021 hit collaboration with Elton John, “Cold Heart” has become her fifth record to hit over 2 billion streams on Spotify.

Method Man vows to never perform at the Summer Jam festival again.

Hip hop icon, Method Man joined Sexyy Red, Davido, Offset and Doja Cat to perform at Saturday’s 2024 Summer Jam festival. However, the Wu-Tang clan emcee met a different reality with an unsatisfactory crowd response. Hot 97 posted reels of some of the performances via Instagram in which Method Man expressed his dissatisfaction before vowing never to perform at the festival again. Explaining his stance, Method Man said the Summer Jam audience does not align with his discography, noting that the generation gap in rap has widened so much. He wrote, “Thanks again, New York and the whole tri-state (that showed up for the event)… I got love for you guys, but never again.”

Tems thrill fans with beautiful NPR’s Tiny Desk Performance.

Nigerian artist, Tems kicked off the 2024 Black Music Month celebration, stunning fans with a beautiful appearance on the new episode of NPR’s Tiny Desk concert series. She performed a five-set song, including “Ice T”, “Me & U”, “Love Me Jeje” and two new songs, “Forever” and “Unfortunate” off her upcoming debut album, “Born in the Wild”. After her performance, NPR praised the RnB singer, noting that “To hear Tems tell her story to the audience that she was shy came as a surprise to me. Drake joins forces with Snowd4y for a remix of “Wah Gwan Delilah”.

Shortly after featuring on Sexxy Red’s new single, “U My Everything”, Drake has again jumped on Toronto rapper, Snowd4y’s “Wah Gwan Delilah”. After being teased in the early hours of Monday, the song was released only on SoundCloud, with Drake singing a lot of Toronto slangs with an auto-tuned high pitched voice. Most fans have been left disappointed, wondering if this is an AI-generated recording or just the Canadian rapper trolling. Fans have taken to social media to question if this is one of the summer records that he promised after withdrawing from his rap feud with Kendrick Lamar a month ago.

New season of “The Boys” is set for streaming on Prime Video.

Amazon’s superhero black comedy series, “The Boys” is set to premiere its new season on June 13. The first three episodes will debut on Prime Video on the release day, with the other episodes to be released weekly. This new season has been announced as the franchise’s final season and newcomers for season 4 will include Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. With the newly released posters, fans have however expressed their heavy anticipation for the highly acclaimed release.
