Tobi Amusan qualifies for the women’s 100m hurdles finals in style.
Nigerian sprinter, Tobi Amusan has overcomes the numerous hurdles in her journey to being the ultimate champion, including the doping violation charges. Recently cleared to race again this year on August 17. She has now nicked a win on the line in the World Athletics Championships’ 100m hurdles semi finals. Finishing first in the Heat 2 of the semifinals in 12.56 seconds, she has now automatically qualified for the 100m hurdles finals in Budapest. Kendra Harrison won the first heat in 12.33 seconds and Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, in 12.41 seconds in the heat 3. Tobi Amusan will be looking to defend her title in the finals which is scheduled to be held on Thursday.

Twitter/X is reportedly set to introduce a media grid display.
Since Elon Musk acquired twitter, numerous changes have been introduced to the social media platform. Perhaps the biggest rapper of his generation, Drake continues to expand his dominion globally in the music industry. He is now set to drop his eighth studio album and fourth in the last two years, For All The Dogs after the release of a poetry book as the front runner for the album. Recall he had first announced this album in late June, however, the album release has now been confirmed by his team and many media outlets for Friday, August 25.

Burna Boy comes under attack for insensitive comments on Afrobeats.
Burna Boy is set to release his new album, I Told Them, and in a new interview with Apple Music Zane Lowe, claimed that the Afrobeats genre is empty because is lacks the substance of real life experiences. Since, he has come under attack on social media for punching down on the genre that has helped him achieve a global appeal. Fans have noted that as one of the front runners of the genre, it is genuinely concerning, how he tries to degrade the genre at any given chance. Many have even gone as far as criticizing him for intentionally using this strategy of insensitive remarks during his album rollouts.

Davido has debuted on Spain billboard chart at number 17.
Afrobeats superstar, Davido has been topping the list of headlines with his new album, Timeless. His hit single, Unavailable has also charted officially across many European countries. However, it is his Eva Longoria joint with Spanish star, Ozuna that has now debuted at 17 on Spain official billboard chart. This makes Davido the second Nigerian artiste to have charted on the Spanish chart after Rema’s Calm Down remix with Selena Gomez, which peaked at number 22.
