On June 28, 2024, the executive order was enacted, eliminating all tariffs, excise duties, and VAT on the importation of pharmaceutical components. Dr. Alausa noted that the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the Nigeria Customs Service will oversee the application of these tax exemptions, allowing domestic producers to take full advantage of this updated system.
