DICON's production has expanded beyond small arms despite foreign reliance.

Bello Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, has announced the readiness of the Defence Industry Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) to manufacture weapons and bullets for the Security forces in Nigeria and other African nations. The minister commended the new DICON Act 2023 for its potential to enhance foreign exchange income, generate employment opportunities, and decrease capital outflows. The company journey started humbly, concentrating on creating small arms and ammunition.
