Kylian Mbappé to miss Netherlands clash after nasal fracture.

New Real Madrid’s striker, Kylian Mbappé has been ruled out of action as France takes on the Netherlands on Friday. The talisman suffered a nasal fracture in their 1-0 win over Austria on Tuesday, causing him to bleed profusely before being substituted. Besides missing Friday’s game, he will also wear a protective mask for the subsequent weeks. French Football has also confirmed that Mbappé will miss the Netherlands clash. Despite this, he will be hoping to make a swift recovery and lead France to glory in this Euros tournament.

The Detroit Pistons sacks Monty Williams with immediate effect.

On Wednesday, the Detroit Piston announced its decision to fire head coach, Monty Williams after one season in charge. According to sources, the Piston’s new president of basketball, Trajan Langdon was meeting with Monty Williams consistently over the future of the franchise but the decision to fire the head coach came directly from the ownership side. Despite the franchise having the third-worst record in any 5-season span in NBA history, Monty Williams led the team to a franchise record with 68 losses last season, warranting his dismissal. He will now absorb the remaining $65 million left in his contract.


Jean-Clair Todibo’s deal to Manchester United called off due to UEFA rules.

Clearly in need of new defending options, Manchester United had registered interest in young French defender, Jean-Clair Todibo. While talks were advanced between both parties, the deal now seems unlikely. Manchester United’s minority owners, INEOS, also has a controlling stake in French club, OGC Nice and the new UEFA crackdown on multi-club ownership blocks two teams with the same ownership from being involved in any transfer with each other if they qualify for the same European competition. As such, United cannot sign the defender, as they both have qualified for the Europa League.

Aston Villa agree to sign Chelsea’s youngster, Ian Maatsen.

After an impressive Loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea’s youngster, Ian Maatsen is set to make a permanent move to PL side, Aston Villa. According to sources, Villa has agreed to a £35 million deal for the Dutch left back, with the fee potentially rising up to £40 million including add-ons. Borussia Dortmund were also in contention to keep the talented defender but could not reach an agreement with Chelsea. Maatsen will sign a 6-year contract with Aston Villa after all personal details have been sorted out.


Netflix to release a new Simone Biles’ docuseries ahead of the 2024 Olympics.

American Gymnast and Olympic gold medalist, Simone Biles got lost in the air. She took a bold step to pull out of the 2020 Olympic Games halfway through the competition and received huge support from sports fans across the globe. She is however set to recount her experiences with mental block the ‘twisties’ in a new Netflix docuseries, “Simone Biles Rising”. In the official trailer which was released on Wednesday, Biles said, “I have always had really good intuition about things, and unfortunately, I felt that way about the Olympics.” The 4-part series will also offer an in-depth overview of Biles’ preparation for the upcoming Olympics. The series will premiere on July 17.
