Jean-Clair Todibo’s deal to Manchester United called off due to UEFA rules.
Clearly in need of new defending options, Manchester United had registered interest in young French defender, Jean-Clair Todibo. While talks were advanced between both parties, the deal now seems unlikely. Manchester United’s minority owners, INEOS, also has a controlling stake in French club, OGC Nice and the new UEFA crackdown on multi-club ownership blocks two teams with the same ownership from being involved in any transfer with each other if they qualify for the same European competition. As such, United cannot sign the defender, as they both have qualified for the Europa League.
