Memphis Depay expected to complete move to Corinthians soon.
Dutch forward, Memphis Depay has signed a free-agent contract with Brazilian club Corinthians, as reported by ESPN. The 30-year-old will join the Sao Paulo-based team on a two-year deal and is set to arrive in Brazil next week. Depay is expected to be officially introduced to Corinthians fans before their Copa Brasil match against Juventude on Thursday. After scoring 13 goals in 22 starts for Barcelona from 2021 to 2023, Depay moved to Atlético Madrid last season, where he netted nine goals in 12 starts. His best season came in 2014-15 with PSV Eindhoven, where he was the Eredivisie’s top scorer with 22 goals. A subsequent €34 million move to Manchester United was less successful, with just seven goals and three assists in 45 games. For the Netherlands, Depay has scored 46 goals in 98 appearances, becoming their second all-time top scorer.

Italy secures 3-1 comeback victory against France on Friday.
France endured a surprising 3-1 defeat to Italy in their UEFA Nations League opener at the Parc des Princes on Friday night. Bradley Barcola gave France a dream start, scoring just 13 seconds into the game—the fastest goal ever by a French player. However, Les Bleus failed to capitalize on their early lead, as Italy mounted a strong comeback. Federico Dimarco, Davide Frattesi, and Giacomo Raspadori all found the net for Italy, securing a well-earned victory. This win provides a significant boost for Luciano Spalletti’s side, following their disappointing performance at Euro 2024, where their title defense ended with a lackluster defeat to Switzerland in the last 16. The result highlights Italy’s resurgence as they look to rebuild after their European campaign setbacks.

Kevin De Bruyne scores brace as Belgium wins 3-1 against Israel.
Manchester City star, Kevin De Bruyne scored twice to lead Belgium to a 3-1 victory over Israel in their Nations League opener on Friday, held behind closed doors in Hungary due to Security concerns. De Bruyne opened the scoring after 21 minutes, but Israel equalized in the 36th minute when Anan Khalaili’s header deflected off Timothy Castagne. Belgium quickly regained their lead after halftime as Youri Tielemans netted from a clever pass by Loïs Openda. Four minutes later, De Bruyne converted a penalty after Openda was fouled. Despite being awarded another penalty shortly after, De Bruyne allowed Openda to take it, but his shot was saved. The win puts Belgium atop League A Group 2 alongside Italy, who beat France. The match was moved abroad due to the Israel-Gaza conflict, and Israel will face Italy in Budapest next.

Anthony Martial set for Flamengo move after leaving Man. United.
Former Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is reportedly set to join Brazilian club Flamengo, over two months after becoming a free agent. Martial was among several players who left Manchester United in July when their contracts expired, including Raphael Varane, who moved to Serie A club Como. The Frenchman struggled with injuries during his last few seasons at Old Trafford, making just 19 appearances last season and not playing after December 2023. Since becoming a free agent on June 30, several clubs have expressed interest in signing Martial to help revive his career. However, the ex-Monaco forward took his time deciding his next move. Now, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the 28-year-old is expected to finalize a move to Flamengo after recent discussions with the Brazilian side.
