The Philadelphia 76ers’ star, Joel Embiid has signed a three-year, $193 million contract extension with the franchise, keeping him with the team through 2029. The deal includes a player option for the 2028-29 season, according to reports. The 30-year-old, seven-time NBA All-Star announced the news himself on Instagram, posting a photo of the signing with team owner Josh Harris, and writing, “Philadelphia is home. I want to be here the rest of my career… You guys deserve a championship.” Embiid, the 2023 NBA MVP, was drafted by the 76ers as the No. 3 overall pick in 2014 and has been a cornerstone of the franchise. In addition to his MVP title, he has five All-NBA Team selections, seven straight All-Star appearances, three All-Defensive Team honors, and two NBA scoring titles. Embiid also won a gold medal with Team USA in the Olympics this summer.

Enzo Maresca hands Ben Chilwell a lifeline to his Chelsea career.

Chilwell was informed early in the pre-season that he had no future at Chelsea and was advised to find a new club.
